On the 26th of June, 2025, CBRE hosted the first open event of the Portuguese Self Storage Association, in partnership with FEDESSA, entitled "Elevating Opportunities in Self-Storage," which gathered the leadership of some of the most prominent industry investors.

The event explored:

A Real Estate Market Overview of Self Storage Assets

• Key publicly available figures of the sector
• Overview of the industry's fundamentals and its prospects
• Launch of the first Portuguese Self Storage inquiry

A Perspective of Key Self Storage Elements Providers

Key providers of partitions, software, and insurance solutions were invited to share their experiences and explain the value added by each component to the overall Self Storage value chain.

A Roundtable on the Role of an Association in an Emerging Market

• Paola Barraza (FEDESSA), Francisco Parreira do Amaral (Portuguese Self Storage Association), and José Maria Moutinho (CBRE) debated the importance of association build-up, its advantages, and challenges.
• The debate revolved around the association's role in fostering sectorial growth and maturity, setting standards between industry members, and ecosystem building as key elements for furthering the interests of all association members.

The event kick-started a follow-up reflection of the Portuguese Association's members that followed the debate.
